1. Question

If you control one monster in an Extra Monster Zone (EMZ) and another Link Monster in the Main Monster Zone that points to the other EMZ, can you Pendulum Summon a monster into that unoccupied EMZ? Or must the two EMZ monsters be connected through an Extra Link?

2. Reddit Discussion

The Reddit discussion gives a consistent answer.

A moderator/judge explains that controlling monsters in both Extra Monster Zones is only possible through an Extra Link. Another response similarly explains that an Extra Link requires Link Monsters to be co-linked between the two EMZs.

The discussion therefore rejects the idea that simply having a Link Monster in a Main Monster Zone pointing toward the other EMZ is enough.

3. Summary of the Reddit Answer

Interpretation	Result
A Link Monster in the Main Monster Zone points to the second EMZ	Not sufficient
Both EMZs are occupied without an Extra Link	Not possible
An Extra Link connects the two EMZs	Required
Pendulum Summoning into the second EMZ while another EMZ is occupied	Not possible unless the Extra Link condition is met

The Reddit answers consistently state that both EMZs can only be occupied through an Extra Link, which involves co-linked Link Monsters connecting the two zones.

4. Conclusion

The Reddit discussion reaches a consistent conclusion: you cannot Pendulum Summon into the other Extra Monster Zone merely because a Link Monster in your Main Monster Zone points to it.

To have monsters occupying both Extra Monster Zones, the required configuration is an Extra Link, involving co-linked Link Monsters connecting the two EMZs.

This post documents the Reddit/Yugioh101 interpretation and should be treated as a community/judge explanation, rather than by itself as an independent Konami ruling.
